BEIJING: President Xi Jinping has postponed the Chinese parliament, in the wake of the pandemic of Corona virus.
This is the first time, since 1995, that the Chinese parliament is postponed. The parliamentary sessions would be a collective of more than 2000 important delegates from various state departments. This year's parliamentary sessions are important, as they were supposed to be discussing about the Hong Kong protests, the Chinese Defence budget and the possible outbreak and preventive measures for Corona Virus.
This has since received backlash from the international community, as they perceive Xi's attempts to avoid public questioning about his failed policies. Since the recent outbreak, the Chinese population have taken to the social media to express their dissatisfaction of the Xi regime, comparing it to that of Chairman Mao's. Many claim that Xi Jinping, over the years moulded the law system to strengthen his hold on power.
