The 3rd of May will be a historic event when the Armed forces of India will do some "special acts" expressing their solidarity with the Corona Warriors, inducing a new energy and enthusiasm among the citizens of India and strengthening the battle against the pandemic. The pan-India lockdown has also been extended till 17th May.

In a press conference done at 1800 hours on 1st May along with the tri-services chiefs, Chief of the Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat expressed gratitude and solidarity with all the Corona Warriors and the citizens of this country and announced a series of spectacular and unprecedented acts by the tri-services to be witnessed by the Nation.

The largest democracy in the world is going to witness the flypasts with fixed wing fighter aircrafts across the lengths and breadths of the Nation, from Srinagar to Thiruvananthapuram and from Dibrugarh to Kuchh and showering of flower petals via helicopters by the Indian Air Force. Along with that, the mighty Indian Navy will decorate and light up their Ships, a serene moment which can be witnessed by the people from the shores. The Indian Army will also conduct mounted displays (Cavalry) along all the hospitals treating the COVID-19 patients across India, and lay wreaths at police memorials.

"Armed forces stand solidly behind the nation and we wish to utilise this opportunity to express gratitude to corona warriors and every citizen who have adhered to guidelines. If we win this fight it will be because of the patience and discipline shown by people of the nation." All the acts are dedicated to the Corona warriors in the country.

Expressing the indebtedness to the Corona Warriors, he stated "We have seen manner in which the medical professionals have toiled day in and day out to ensure all affected by the COVID-19 recover in the fastest timeframe. Along with them the nurses, other medical staff, sanitation workers, the police standing beside them, personal safety and home guards, delivery boys and of course the media which has been reaching out to our population with messages emanated by the Government time to time about how to manage our lives in these times."

Adding, he also appreciated the resilience, determination and discipline of the nation's citizens in abiding the guidelines given by the Government of India and cooperating with the people trying to safeguard them from the Chinese virus.
